Food therapy is one of the components of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Food therapy is the art and science of using specific food ingredients to feed an individual based upon their inborn tendencies, their age,  and their current disharmony or disease process.  The goal of food therapy is to  help restore balance to the body.  Food therapy is often used as an adjunct to acupuncture and/or herbal therapy.  Specific ingredients may be added to the current diet or a different diet maybe prescribed.
